I can’t believe the end of summer is here but when I think back over the past summer season a lot has happened. This summer included infections, 2 lines in, 2 lines out, weeks in the hospital, and numerous days. We moved and I have taken a leave from work and school. So our summer has not been filled traditional summer holidays including weekend bbq’s and swimming, but has been memorable none the less.
It is amazing to me that when my husband and I have a couple of days at home together without doctors’ appointments and my nurse coming over how much I cherish the normalcy of those days. It is a little taste of freedom. Even though days at home are still regimented from DIGITS at home this is our norm. These 2 days remind and inspire me to keep up the fight against DIGITS for these moments with my husband. I am ready for the summer to pass and bring on the fall hoping better health is in this year’s harvest.
