My name is Taunya Wideman-Johnston. I have been fortunate
to plan this beautiful evening with my incredible mom, Nelly Wideman; the ever-so talented, Melissa Murray; and her wonderful mom, Laurie Murray. These remarkable women have not only made tonight possible but the great success that it is.
When I look around the room tonight I am amazed by how many people have come forward to support DIGITS. We are truly grateful to each one of you. But most of all what I would like to share with you is what I see when I look around the room tonight, and that is HOPE.
I have DIGITS and DIGITS is definitely an illness that can test your hope, it never goes away. But having you all here, coming together and believing DIGITS is a real cause that is worth fighting for. This my dear friends, family and sponsors is a moment I will always cherish!
I know hope is one of those words that has a differentmeaning to each person but I want to share with you what I believe hope to be.
When I think of hope, I envision white light.
Tonight, this room is illuminated with white light.
Tonight, you have given us the greatest gift – and that is the gift of HOPE.
Hope is what gives us strength to continue.
Hope is what we with DIGITS need. For this, I thank-you.
Dr. Taylor would you please come forward.
